Update on 4th Grade Writing
Students are exploring the world of opinion/persuasive writing, beginning with writing a friendly letter on a topic they are passionate about. Some of these letters have been addressed to parents - so look for them to come home! We had quite a variety of topics! We have explored the importance of understanding different perspectives, as well as determining who our audience will be. Next week, we'll pick a different topic, explore pros and cons, and write an opinion essay.

Reading update with Mrs. Luyt
Last week, we had a lot more 3's on our Scholastic News Questions. I was very pleased. I hope the students continue working towards this goal every week. Thank you for your support to help your child in reading!
Reading: Last week we introduced text structures chronological order and introduced new spelling words for a test on 3/8/18. We took our Latin/Greek test on Thursday. This week we will introduce new Latin/Greek words for a test on 3/15/18. We will also be introducing text structures description and compare and contrast. Spelling test on 3/8/18.
