Summer Homework and Field Day Pictu

I'm including summer reading and math information here so you don't have to scroll to the bottom of all the pictures to find this information.

Math 1st grade - 8th grade:
Your child will bring home a math facts packet to be completed and returned to school on the first day of school. Remember, this is mandatory and counts as 10% of your child's first quarter grade.

Reading 3rd grade - 8th grade plus 10th grade:
Your child will be required to read a minimum of 1 book of their choice over the summer and fill out a brief book review.  We ask that you help your child pick an appropriate book that is not too easy nor too difficult.  We hope that your children will read more than 1 book and review all the books they read.  We also hope that parents will review the books being reading.  In the fall we will publish our very own "Oasis Good Reads" book review on the school website.

If your child chooses a book and you are not sure if it is too easy or too hard you can check the reading level here.  http://arbookfinder.com

GENERAL INFORMATION :
  • Field Day is for current Oasis students only - (no siblings)

  • Students are not required to wear uniforms but must dress with the same coverage as school uniforms (no tank tops or short shorts or bare midriffs)
  • Shoes will get wet!  Water shoes or sandals are preferred.  Tennis shoes are good too but they will get wet.
  • There are several water activities and swimming suits are allowed but must be a one piece or cover their bellies. NO BARE BELLIES!!
  • Dress your child in their swimsuit at home - under their other clothing.
  • Friends of Oasis Academy is sponsoring a BBQ for all Oasis students and volunteers so a full free lunch will be provided (hot dogs, fruit, chips, drink, etc.).  If your student has a food allergy you may want to consider sending them with a sack lunch.
  • Please label all of your student's belongings!  (Towel, clothing, bag or backpack, etc.)
  • Send your child's belongings in a labeled bag or backpack so they can keep everything together.
  • APPLY SUNSCREEN before you drop them off at school.
  • School gets out at 2:00 PM for all K-10 students
  • IMPORTANT! After school pickup: Parents/Guardians will need to park in the big parking lot at the front (south side) of the building and walk to the playground for their student/s. Students will be lined up by the first letter of their last name. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PICK YOUR CHILD/REN UP AT THE SCHOOL FRONT DOORS.  This is never allowed.
  • Please be patient with this process and remember if everyone follows the rules, things will go quickly and smoothly.  Thanks!
