Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Everyone!

I am looking for a missing library book that I brought in for one of our projects. It is called,"From Under Sun Mountain." We have checked all cubbies and shelves here at school. I would appreciate it if you could have your students check at home also.

This week students are continuing work on the Economic lessons began last week.

Thursday the school will celebrate Halloween.

Please remember the following information about costumes:
  • Kids can wear Halloween costumes to school on Thursday, October 29
  • No scary or bloody masks are allowed and all masks must be removed during class time.
  • Costumes must cover as much skin as school uniforms do.  Parents will be called to bring a school uniform if costumes violate the dress code.
The school Halloween Parade will be at 11:00.

Our Halloween Party will be at 2:30. Please contact Racquel if you have specific party questions.

Have a great week and Happy Halloween!

Welcome to 2nd Quarter!

Hi Everyone!

Thank you to all of the parents and family members that attended our map presentations. I think it was a big success.

I cannot believe how fast the first quarter went!

The students started a new elective this afternoon, Drama with Mrs. Berg. It sounded like they had a great time.

Friday is also Parent Teacher Conferences. I sent out email invites to sign up for conference times last week. Please contact me if you did not receive one so that I can resend your email.

It is also Book Fair Week. Our class will be going on Tuesday to visit the Book Fair. While there students will have an opportunity to browse through the books, make a Wish List, and purchase books if they have money.

The Book Fair will be open for students, parents, guardians and friends to come shop during the following days/times:
  • Monday - Thursday October 19-22  ~ 7:45a to 8:30a, 11:30a-2:30p and 3:45p-4:30p
  • No 3:45-4:30 shift on Thursday because it's Family Night
  • MONSTER HAIR DAY is Thursday the 22nd! Students may come to school that day with crazy monster hair.
  •  Family Night is Thursday, October 22 from 6-8 pm

    Have an amazing week!

Hello! Hello!

Hello Everyone,

Behavior Charts:
Due to some issues of keeping all students on task I will be implementing new clip charts in my room. Having the visual reminder within the room should help with these concerns more effectively than Class Dojo.

Just a quick overview:

There are five levels. The middle level is the daily starting point. Students will then be directed to move their clip up or down based on their actions in class. I will be watching for students to be on task, demonstrating the Tribes agreements, and other actions.

If a student moves their clip down more than one then I will contact parents via email. Additional emails may be sent if a student's behavior warrants it.

I have a clip chart that will be used for 3rd and 5th grade as well.

Math: In math this week, we will continue work with addition and subtraction using partial sums/differences and standard algorithm to solve. We will also add in review of previous standards to prepare for the quiz on Thursday.

Projects:
In projects, students will be working on the Nevada maps. We will be using the Star Board to trace Nevada onto our tag board and begin work on the maps.

Looking forward to another great week,

Mrs. Zimmerman
