Can a match box?......... No, but a tin can :)

3rd grade- We are still working with fractions. We are learning about equivalent fractions and will further explore fractions using a number line. We will have a quiz on Thursday.


4th- This week we are still working with division problems. We are going to use unit bars to solve in depth word problems.I will be posting videos for homeowork help.We will have a quiz on Thursday.


5th- We are solving fraction addition and subtraction word problems using unit bars. I will be posting videos to help with homework. We wil have a quiz on word problems Thursday.


Projects- We are still finding research on our animal and plants. Students are going to start their websites Monday!

3rd Grade- This week we are starting to work with fractions and understand where we use them and what they are.

4th Grade- Word problems are coming around again! We are learning to solve multiplication and division word problems.

5th Grade- We are still working with fractions. This week we will work more with subtracting and adding improper fractions! We will also start learning how to solve fraction word problems.
Here is a refresher to start off the week! 

Projects- This week in projects students are researching with a partner about one plant and animal of their choice. Students will continue to research and gain knowledge and important information to use when they start creating their websites! Students will have a vocab test February 5th. Their vocabulary sheets were sent home last week!

3rd Grade-  We are still dealing with adding and subtracting. Last week we learned about partial difference and partial sum. This week I am showing students standard algorithm for both adding and subtracting. On Wednesday we will have a short quiz on these strategies! Thursday we are starting to dip our toes into fractions! 

4th- We are still working on division. This week we are still practicing standard algorithm division as well as learning about partial quotient division! Students will have a short quiz on division on Thursday! 

5th - We are still adding and subtracting fractions. Students are learning about how to subtract and add mixed numbers this week. There will be a short quiz on adding and subtracting fractions on Thursday. 


Projects- We are diving into our animal and plant unit. This week students are starting to research and learn about the different environments, behavior, reproduction and growth. The students final project will be creating a website in order to compare and contrast one animal and one plant.
Vocabulary quiz will be February 5th.

Thank you for everyone came to our Revolutionary War presentations! The entire class did such a great job! I was one proud teacher!

3rd Grade- We are reviewing partial sum and difference this week!

4th grade- We are reviewing lattice multiplication and partial product on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday we are diving into division!

5th-  FRACTIONS, FRACTIONS, FRACTIONS! Yahoooo!


Projects- We are now flipping switches and starting science. We are going to start learning about Life Science. This week we are starting to learn about microscopes and checking out animal and plant cells!

Remember report cards are coming out this week!
