I grew up in a small town, Rupert, Idaho. My parents were both educators and I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. Some of my favorite fourth grade memories are riding the bus to my mom's school and playing in her classroom as if I was the teacher. After high school, I attended Ricks College and then graduated from Brigham Young University in elementary education. I met Aaron, now my husband, the summer before my last year at school. He was working in Rupert, so after we married I was able to return to my hometown and teach sixth grade in the same grade school I attended. I enjoyed working with the very same sixth grade teachers that had taught me, definitely master teachers.
After that first year, we had the opportunity to return to Fallon. I was expecting my first child, Ashley and so I decided to stay home with her and substitute taught when I could. I now have four children who just keep growing up too fast! Ashley - 15, Kailyn - 13, Wyatt - 10, and Dallin - 8 all attend school here at Oasis Academy. Aaron works for the family dairy and as a family we love to help out when we can, well, some of us anyway! I enjoy gardening, reading, summer sun, running, biking, playing with my family and sewing an occasional quilt. These past 15 years in Fallon I have spent many hours in the classroom. I have loved volunteering and subbing here at Oasis since it opened. I love the warm, welcoming environment that I have always felt at this school. I hope that I can foster that same feeling in our classroom. I love to learn and I love to share that learning with children. I can't wait for this school year!
